SUPPORT THE MICHAEL SANDY FOUNDATION
The Michael Sandy Foundation was created nearly 3 years ago when a 29 year old designer named Michael Sandy was lured into meeting someone he had met from the internet at Plum Beach in Brooklyn. Upon arrival the one person that he was chatting with suddenly became four. They chased him, beat him up, and forced him into traffic where he was killed by a speeding vehicle. They did this because Michael was gay. They thought gay people were easy victims and they were found guilty and charged under the NY State Hate Crimes law.
The Board of Directors of the Michael Sandy Foundation are some of his closest friends. When Michael passed away we could not stand by and let his memory go without acknowledgement. The education our foundation provides will help to stop another tragedy from happening by teaching awareness, love and tolerance. Michael's powerful presence will never be forgotten and it is our hope to make others aware they can be empowered to CARE TO END HATE.
